As part of the host church’s responsibilities, we are also working on finding ways to welcome and appreciate the campers, during the week of camp.    And as you viewed on the list of our sponsors, there are businesses donating snacks, treats, and gifts for the campers.  We are looking for items to add to each campers (500) Welcome bags.  We are interested in items that represent Rhode Island – like items from Hasbro (Mr. Potato Head), Del’s Lemonade, Autocrat and so on.  As well As, items that will be helpful to the campers, during their stay, examples of items are water bottles, lanyards, pens, magnets, flashlights, measuring tape, tool apron, hand-held fan, stress ball.   

  And someone once said, the way to someone’s heart is with Food, right.  Well, we are trying to do just that!!  We are searching for Snacks for the campers to enjoy when they return to school after a hard day of service and after their evening program every night.  Examples of snacks are granola and breakfast bars, fruit snacks, chips, chex mix, pop tarts, donuts and fruit.  We are, of course, interested in enough to feed 500 people, ideally, and prefer that items are individally wrapped and have no nuts in them.  

 

This is a great way to “Love out Loud” with us.  If you are involved in your church and would like to help – maybe your church could organize a snack drive and collect something to share or maybe our religious education classes would like to make thank you cards for the campers.  There are many ways to put your faith into action, if a donation of some kind is not possible, please visit the volunteer tab to view the many ways you can share your time and talents!!
